Customer Service Representative (Calgary, AB)

The Cat Rental Store has an immediate opportunity for a Customer Service Representative to join the team in our Calgary, AB location.

The successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for efficient and effective customer service at the rental counter ensuring company standards are met.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Interfacing with the customers by telephone or in person in a prompt, courteous, business-like manner.
  • Inside sales of all products and services, including rentals, that the company offers.
  • Draws up rental and sales contracts.
  • Processes equipment returns and closes rental contracts.
  • Performs other equipment inquiries through the company’s computerized programming.
  • Keeps paperwork current to insure prompt action on all transactions.
  • Must be able and willing to assist in servicing equipment.
  • Participating in the afterhours on-call rotation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Safety Advisor/Equipment Safety Trainer (Calgary, AB)

The Cat Rental Store has an immediate opportunity for a Safety Advisor/Equipment Safety Trainer to join the Health and Safety team primarily working out of the Calgary, AB branch.

As a Safety Advisor/Trainer you will be the primary branch resource for safety development; ensuring branches adherence to policy and provincial statutes. You will be responsible for review of standards and establishing new targets to exceed Workplace Health and Safety, and other potential local requirements while working within our team of safety professionals.

Equipment Safety Training is significant component of this position; examples include AWP, Telescopic Handler & Rough Terrain Forklift, C/B Forklift, Skid Steer loader. The successful candidate will be required to facilitate Equipment Safety Training on a regular schedule for both customers and staff at branches and job site locations.

This career opportunity will include substantial travel primarily within the southern Alberta region.

This organized, self motivated individual will report directly to the TCRS EH & Safety Manager with dotted line responsibility to the Equipment Safety Training Manager and will also work with TCRS region and branch management.

The successful candidate will be able to travel, lead with above average communication skills, able to encourage and engage the client to raise the bar in safe work at all Cat Rental Store activities.

Post-secondary education, (education, marketing, or management disciplines) would be considered an asset. Must be skilled in use of MS Office, articulate, neat in appearance and hold a clean driving record.

Industrial Services Customer Service Representative (Edmonton, AB)

The Cat Rental Store, Industrial Services Division has an immediate opportunity for two Customer Service Representative positions at the industrial west end, Edmonton, Alberta location. The position will report directly to the Industrial Services Manager-NSK.

The successful candidate will have a proven ability to perform daily customer service tasks within the branch and must be able to work independently in a team-oriented environment while possessing the desire to accept the challenge of satisfying difficult customer requests. A willingness to travel will allow you assist other TCRS branches when required or for industrial shutdown activities. Travel via ground or air may be required, therefore, a clean, valid class 5 license will be needed. You must possess a strong knowledge of general & industrial rental tooling and equipment found within our fleet. Customer Service experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Branch warehousing and yard related work.
  • Daily shipping and receiving activities.
  • Inspection, cleaning and repair of industrial tools & equipment.
  • Equipment operating knowledge ( forklift, aerial, skidsteer etc.).
  • Provides industrial services (shutdown) quotes and processes contracts and invoicing.
  • Documentation of all activities both within branch and while at customer sites.
  • Processes equipment returns and closes industrial contracts.
  • Ensures paperwork is current to assure prompt action on all transactions.
  • Periodic delivery of tools & equipment to customers & other TCRS branches.
  • Assists the Customer Support Supervisor in the development of proposals and monitoring inventory levels.

Remarketing Manager (Edmonton, AB)

The Cat Rental Store, Administration Group, has an immediate opportunity for a Remarketing Manager to join our team. This position will be based out of the Edmonton Head Office location.

Reporting directly to the Fleet and Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate’s primary functions are to develop, execute and report on a process for providing used equipment solutions to customers. To develop a strategy around used equipment purchasing, inventory management and retail merchandising which supports revenue projections in the annual Corporate/Branch budgets. Collaborates to identify, develop and execute business strategies to profitably grow the business in a safe and efficient manner and to develop exit strategies for underperforming assets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Under the direction of Fleet and Purchasing Manager develop and maintain a used equipment purchasing, inspection, inventory utilization, record keeping, quoting, and control system while growing the used equipment business at TCRS.
  • Establish Used Equipment wholesale and retail values based on inspections and mechanical history of machines using market based parameters.
  • Oversee the selling of surplus rental equipment through internal and external channels.
  • Liaise with inside/outside sales team to identify sales and purchasing opportunities and to assist sales team to complete transactions up to delivery of equipment to customer. Providing solutions to customer retail inquiries.
  • Renew and manage roll out strategy for Caterpillar used equipment to Finning Used Equipment group.
  • Manage maintenance, repairs and reconditioning of used retail equipment. Work with service departments to ensure on time and on budget work orders are completed.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers, brokers and used equipment vendors to gain access to negotiate best pricing and equipment available for our customers.
  • Ensure retail used inventory levels are available to meet annual budgeted retail sales targets and profitability.

The successful candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and will work closely with a wide variety of TCRS staff and customers. This self-motivated individual will possess strong interpersonal skills both verbal and written; will be a team player with highly developed organizational and analytical skills. Must be proficient with MS Office Suite and Excel, 5 – 10 years broadly based used equipment purchasing or sales management is required with emphasis on Allied equipment including AWP, compressors, generators, pumps, light towers, heat and Caterpillar general construction equipment. Extensive heavy equipment education or experience would be considered and asset.

The Cat Rental Store, Wirtanen Electric Division has an immediate opportunity for a Shipper/Receiver to join their team in Edmonton, AB.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all movement of equipment in and out of the branch. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures setup of customer service orders as per written requirements.
  • Completes proper paperwork to customer service on returns.
  • Inspects equipment prior to shipment and on return for serviceability. Notifies shop personnel and customer service on damaged or missing equipment.
  • Constantly checks inventory levels of equipment, notifies customer service of shortages.
  • Ensures proper packaging and addressing of shipments for common carriers. Ensures that all dangerous goods requirements are enforced.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in warehouse and yard.

Wash Bay Attendant (Edmonton, AB)

Customer Service Driver (Fort McMurray, AB)

The Cat Rental Store has an immediate opportunity for a Customer Service Driver to join the team at the Fort McMurray, AB location.

The successful candidate will be responsible for pick up and delivery of equipment to and from customers, vendors, and branches. The candidate will have either a Class 1 or Class 3, with air ticket, driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Must have deck experience, and able to operate equipment with the ability to load and unload equipment and correctly tie down all types of equipment, understand DOT requirements, log books, hours of service, etc. Candidate needs to be able to setup air brakes and check them on a regular basis. Uphold care and maintenance on truck, which will include washing and servicing.

Must be able to service customers in a polite, friendly and professional manner and maintain a professional personal appearance.

Parts Coordinator (Lloydminster, AB)

The Cat Rental Store has an immediate opportunity for a Parts Coordinator to join the team in Lloydminster, Alberta.

The successful candidate will have 2 – 3 years parts experience or 1st or 2nd year apprenticeship in the parts field and will assist in maintaining parts and shop supply inventories. It will be essential for the candidate who fills this position to ensure high company standards are met. The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment and possess the desire to learn and accept the challenge of satisfying difficult customer requests.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Order, receive, and track parts.
  • Generate and track PO’s.
  • Offer parts sourcing assistance to TCRS branches.
  • Process work orders, inspections and other TCRS documents as required.
  • File and track warranty claims.
  • Source parts locally to reduce parts costs and equipment down time.
  • Work with Corporate Service Resource personnel and Industry Managers to maintain and support branches with cost effective international parts orders and processing.
  • Build working relationships with local & regional suppliers and maintain a directory of preferred vendors and items carried.
  • Keep paperwork current to insure thorough action on all transactions.
  • Update MSDS books based on shop supplies.
  • Require a valid class 5 driver license.
