Heavy Duty Mechanic (Calgary, AB)
The Cat Rental Store has an immediate opportunity for a full time Heavy Duty Mechanic to join the team at the Calgary, AB location.
The successful candidate will have a Journeyman Mechanic certification and will possess the technical knowledge to perform service tasks on our product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to large heavy duty equipment (e.g. backhoes and dozers).
Responsibilities will include:
- Quality repairs to TCRS fleet of equipment.
- Interfacing with customers in the field on service calls in a courteous, business-like manner.
- Customer satisfaction and product quality.
- Problem solving from diagnosis to correction.
- Coordination of product repair.
- Keeps paperwork current to insure thorough action on all transactions.

Service Writer (Calgary, AB)
The Cat Rental Store has an immediate opportunity for a Service Writer to join the team in Calgary, AB.
Working out of the Calgary branch this position is responsible for preparing, billing and filing all work orders that come through on a daily basis ensuring all information is included on all billable paperwork. The Service Writer is responsible for making sure the paperwork is flowing in a timely manner.
Responsibilities will include:
- Receive and log service calls for field technicians and keeping field work orders up to date.
- Work with the shop foreman to maintain control of all work orders.
- Work with the parts personnel to keep control of parts and proper billing.
- Retrieving, filing and maintenance of SMFs.
- Conduct Parts runs.
Additional duties will include:
- administrative processes such as incoming/outgoing mail and accounts payable/ receivable paperwork;
- assist with health and safety initiatives within the branch.
Proficient knowledge of computer applications (Windows, general office equipment, electronic mail, word processing software, spreadsheet software, inventory control software, Internet browser) is essential for this position.
Must have a Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Due to the growing demand for our training services, The Cat Rental Store has an immediate opportunity for an Equipment Safety Trainer to the join our dynamic team in Edmonton, AB.
As a trainer for our existing equipment programs the successful candidate would be a leader; facilitating the various learning sessions in a professional and competent manner.
The role of the Equipment Safety Trainer will include substantial travel primarily in northern Alberta.
Your creative skills are an asset for program development.
The trainer will report to TCRS Equipment Safety training Manager and will work within the Health and Safety department structure. Additional duties include ensuring current safety regulations, statutes, and specific site rules are reviewed and programs are updated, keeping current with the relevant industry changes in marketplace.
The successful candidate will be articulate, neat in appearance and prepared to travel. A self motivated individual, well organized and able to work in a fast paced environment. Candidates must have a clean driving record (abstract) and are required to participate in pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
He/she will be confident with public speaking, experienced in providing adult learning sessions is an asset. Post-secondary education with marketing, adult education or management disciplines would also be considered an asset. Must be skilled in use of MS Office, including: PowerPoint, MS Excel, and Outlook.

Yardman/Warehouse – Trench Shoring (Edmonton, AB)
The Cat Rental Store has an immediate opportunity for a Yard/Warehouse Person – Level 1 to join the team at the Trench Shoring Edmonton, AB location.
Reporting directly to the Customer Service Supervisor, duties include, but are not limited to loading and unloading of company trucks, inspecting equipment prior to shipment and on return for serviceability, which includes cleaning, minor repair and general maintenance on trench shoring equipment. Notifies shop personnel on damaged or missing equipment; ensures ready-to-rent equipment is presented in an orderly fashion and general house-keeping of both the warehouse and yard. On occasion may operate company truck to pick up and deliver equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for pick up and delivery of equipment to and from customers, vendors, and branches. The candidate will have a Class 1, with air ticket, driver’s license with a clean driving record (must supply a Driver’s Abstract).
Must have deck experience, and able to operate equipment with the ability to load and unload equipment and correctly tie down all types of equipment, understand DOT requirements, maintain a federally regulated government Log Book, hours of service, etc. Candidate needs to be able to setup air brakes and check them on a regular basis. Uphold care and maintenance on truck, which will include washing and servicing.
Must be able to service customers in a polite, friendly and professional manner and maintain a professional personal appearance.

Reporting through the Accounting Manager and working within the framework of the Accounting team this position is responsible for reconciling and maintaining the bank, equipment inventory and other various accounts playing a significant role in the month-end processes leading up to financial statement preparation. Responsibilities will include the following:
Reconcile and maintain all fleet and bank related accounts:
- Load general ledger data, clear, report.
- Allocate monthly operating leases of rental fleet to applicable branch locations.
- Clearing of cheques – outstanding cheques, cleared and voids list.
- Journal entries for bank fees and adjustments.
- Bank transfers of small accounts into master Canadian account.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies found in reconciliation process.
- Weekly (with intent of moving to daily) Bank Reconciliations.
- Advise branches of returned cheques, administer stop payment request and retrieve cheque copies as requested for internal administrative employees.
Month End duties:
- Responsible for month-end duties as designated on the month-end financial sign-off.
- Preparation and entry of month-end bank and fleet-associated journal entries.
Assist/backup Accountant, Cash Control:
- Provide assistance and backup to the Accountant, Cash Control for cash control related issues.
- Help branch administrators solve cash control problems.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma or degree with concentration in accounting/business.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in an accounting/financial capacity.
- Certification: Diploma/degree from a recognized technical institute, college or university.
- Recently designated or working towards an accounting designation.

The Cat Rental Store, Industrial Services Division has an immediate opportunity for a Facility Coordinator at our Industrial Services Division, Edmonton, AB.
The Facility Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the overall function of the workshop, warehouse and yard ensuring that all procedures are followed in a safe and efficient manner. The successful candidate will have good working knowledge of all rental equipment and possess sufficient mechanical skills to perform and/or recommend minor equipment repairs.
Responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the organization and condition of the yard/warehouse and workshop; ensures the highest levels of housekeeping are maintained.
- Supervises and assigns tasks to tool technicians, yard/warehouse and driver personnel.
- Monitors fleet availability and reservations and checks over incoming/ outgoing equipment transfers. Documents transfers and BOLs.
- Performs other equipment inquiries through the company’s computerized programming.
- Coordinates the pickup and delivery schedule with shipping personnel and Industrial customer service personnel.
- Oversees equipment quality and performance; ensures all equipment is properly red/green tagged.
- Performs a variety of external and internal paperwork paying attention to accuracy, timeliness and completeness. Ensures paperwork is current for prompt action on all transactions.
- Communicates with management all yard and warehouse safety violations reported.

Accountant – Cash Management (Edmonton, AB)
The Cat Rental Store has an immediate opportunity for an Accountant – Cash Management to join the Administration team in Edmonton.
Reporting through the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for integrity and timeliness in recording bank receipts for all TCRS bank accounts and also plays a significant role in the month-end processes leading up to financial statement preparation. Responsibilities will include the following:
Cash Control:
- Posts all cash controls for all TCRS branches on a daily basis.
- Solves any cash control related problems.
- Ensures cash clearing account is maintained on a monthly basis.
- Reconciles over/short account on a monthly basis for Cash Controls.
Accounts Receivable Receipts on Account:
- Posts all direct deposits and centralized payments on customer accounts on a daily basis.
- Daily banking processes.
- Works with the Intermediate Accountant to resolve any identified bank account entries.
Month End duties:
- Responsible for month-end duties as designated on the month-end financial sign-off.
- Ensures all Cash Control functions are complete at month-end.
- Performs monthly Finning Accounts Payable reconciliation and quarterly preparation of the accompanying journal entry.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of two years of related work experience in an accounting/ financial capacity combined with post-secondary education in pursuit of an accounting designation.
